Voith Paper:

Hamburger Spremberg orders recovered fiber preparation system


Paper mill Hamburger Spremberg, a member of the Pitten-based Austrian group W. Hamburger AG, are to build a greenfield paper mill for white and brown corrugating medium in Spremberg/Saxony, Germany.

Voith Paper Fiber Systems, Ravensburg has been selected to supply the complete stock preparation system, which will handle 100% recovered paper. Voith Paper will supply separate stock preparation lines for the topliner, underliner and backliner, as well as approach flow screening and broke pulpers for the paper machine.

Voith Paper AS, Tranby, Norway will provide the fiber thickening technology, consisting of a Thune disc filter and screw press.

Meri Entsorgungstechnik, Voith Paper’s joint venture partner based in Munich, is responsible for the complete rejects handling and water treatment.

Commissioning of the new paper mill is scheduled for the middle of 2005.
